Information: Named after Maseratis two Indy 500 race wins in 1939 1940, the Maserati Indy was first shown in prototype form at the Turin Motor Show in 1968 with the first production cars going on sale in March 1969. A sleek looking Coup? with pop-up headlights it was powered by a 4.2 litre V8 engine with 4 down-draught Weber carburettors producing 260 bhp. It was a true GT or Gran Turismo car, able to comfortably seat four people and their luggage whilst capable of a top speed of 155 mph.
